New Zealand NZQA Visitation

On May 2, 2017, two delegates from New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) visited HEEACT's headquarter in Taipei. Prof. Shaw-Ren Lin, Dean of Office of Quality Assurance, hosted the guests, Dr. Karen Chalmers, Director International and Policy, and Dr. Eve McMahon, Manager of Quality Assurance Strategy, and introduced our latest and prominent quality assurance accreditation works. NZQA later exchanged its works on qualification frameworks that has been established for over 25 years.

On May 5, both organizations attended a meeting and discussion hosted by the International Education and Cross-strait Affairs, Ministry of Education (MOE), and New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office. Mediated by Prof. Angela Yung-CHi Hou, HEEACT's Executive Director, she shared her knowledge on Taiwan's higher education and quality assurance and the works leading to signing an MOU with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on mutual recognition, which NZQA showed interest of possible collaboration in the future. Both sides, NZQA and the MOE have agreed to discuss the matters back home and see through the possibility of such works.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), established in 1989, is the New Zealand government crown entity tasked with providing leadership in assessment and qualifications.
